When we met the owners of Post Woodworking Sheds in late 2012, their brand was struggling. In business since 1962, Post had been building superior sheds for 50 years. From a manufacturing perspective, they had done everything right by focusing on a quality product, and investing in their equipment and people. However, their problem remained. We soon discovered that while their message of quality was still relevant, it needed to be presented in a new way to a new generation of consumer.

For most consumers, “quality” is expected. While this is true, the elements that go into creating a quality product remains extremely important to today’s consumer.

By highlighting this important detail, we can begin to establish Post as a valuable and quality brand they can trust. In turn, Post will experience a level of success that will allow them to raise their prices each year and continue to generate increased revenue. The first and most essential step in accomplishing this was to focus on the public’s perception, as well as the presentation of the Post Woodworking brand.

Rebrand

To accompany Post’s streamlined product offering, we established a visual tone that projected a marrying of nature and design. Because the sheds are so artfully designed, they enhance the picturesque New England landscape where they are placed. We incorporated images of lush nature into the brand’s visual palette to amplify this.

The color palette incorporates warm earthy tones, in contrast with a bright bold orange and cool mint highlights. This gives Post a dynamic look that appeals to both men and women, as well as new generations of consumers.

When it came to typography, we aimed to balance a modern condensed sans serif with down-to-earth bold serif, creating a warm yet stylish combination, mirroring the feel of the sheds themselves.

Fresh Website

In 2016, we launched a new website that reflects Post’s new brand aesthetic, as well as highlights their exclusive lineup of five shed styles. While designing and developing the site, we kept our focus on amplifying the user experience, creating a responsive website, ensuring that the user could easily navigate through sheds styles, and emphasizing the pricing, customization options, and various ways to place order.

VIDEO SERIES

We created a series of videos that gave customers an inside glimpse into the family owned and operated company, which authenticated how the superior quality sheds are designed and built.

Because Post Woodworking employees are so personable and their process so efficient, we saw this video series as a great opportunity to focus on the the real people behind the sheds. Sharing how passionate they are about creating a quality product allowed us to highlight a unique advantage of Post Woodworking over some of their competitors. In addition, other videos in the series focused on helpful tips, as well as what to expect when placing an order.

The Results
